Your shoulder to cry on.
Your ear to bend.
Your hand to hold.
I will be all these things to you, because you have been these things to me.
xo, SE, always.
This little phrase describes how I feel about that peculiar dressing they give you with the free salad at sushi joints. It's also a pretty decent way to live your life: ask a few questions and get something good.

Shoes, Shows & Sloppy Joe's - NYC2012
Okay kiddies! I'm soon, but not soon enough if ya know what I mean, off to one of the greatest cities in the world (NEW!YORK!CITY!) to do some of the greatest things in the world (SHOP!SEE!EAT!). It's going to be epic, and because I can now EAT BREAD my tears will be limited to not finding shoes in my size!
I will try to post a little photo blog of my adventures, although, truth be told those can be a bit annoying for those at home, right? We'll see, we'll see, it's all good. NO! It's all GREAT! I CAN'T WAIT! *
*The number of exclamation marks used in this post is in direct relation to my level of excitement in writing, and soon to be living, this post.

Peeve
I am an easily annoyed person. Surprise! Little things BUG me. Lots of little things, but namely rude behaviour and bad style. I like to talk about these little annoyances ad nauseam in the hopes that I will spread the word so far and wide that PEOPLE WILL JUST STOP DOING THESE DUMB THINGS.
My number one style peeve at the moment – even more monumental than the hose with open toe shoe calamity – is the man’s suit with improper outerwear. More specifically, the man’s suit with SHORT outerwear. If your suit jacket is longer than your outerwear you are a Grade A moron. I don’t care who you are, you are simply a fail. Like, why are you? Don’t you know? Doesn’t anyone you know know? What are you doing? You shouldn’t be in that suit and quite frankly I’m wondering if you should even be on Earth. But, then again, if you were on Mars you’d probably fuck up your space suit too. Stop doing this.
Now, tell everyone. Sing it from the rooftops. Yell aloud. With any luck, the days of this eye poison are numbered. You’re not doing it for me. You’re doing it for everyone. And everyone? Well, they thank you. |

Quotable - Part 14
"Play on, playette."
Life motto, Coko Galore-styles. March 15th, 2012.
But also & originally:
Happy Friday, playettes.

Dream Your Dream
Way back when, in a galaxy known as Etobicoke I used to play around with the coolest cousins in the world in the coolest basement in the world. After we finished using sofa cushions as crazy carpets, sliding down the staircase right into the coffee table a zillion times, we’d play pretend Reagle Beagle in our actual bar set up. This was the way to spend your PA Days!
I’m truly not sure if it was in the basement of 8 Hartsdale Drive that the idea of Dina’s Doughnuts was born, but I’d like to think it was. You see, my cousin Dina is all sorts of amazing and I’d like to be a small part of her amazing dream that came true.
Dina loves to bake and she loves to eat what she bakes and she loves other people to eat what she bakes. So what better dream for this baker than to open her own shop, called Dina’s Doughnuts, no less. I mean, who doesn’t love doughnuts? Who doesn’t love Dina?
Years passed, life gets in the way and, well, Dina’s Doughnuts got pushed to the back part of the wistful brain. The part that always seems to jut out at you when you’re being annoyed by your boss or the alarm clock. It’s always there, though, this wistful dream of what if - hovering, wondering. If you’re lucky, magic will strike and dreams like this can move themselves forward to the actual part of your brain - where things can happen, where things can be. Tomorrow, on March 16th, 2012 it is happening. It is being. Dina’s dream has come true. Dina’s Doughnuts has transformed itself into The Social Cupcake.

See you there on Saturday – even my dreams can come true: The Social Cupcake does Gluten Free.
We’re so proud of you Dina.
Dream Often ... Dream Big ... Dream Doughnuts ...

First
The first song you hear in the morning has the power to set off your whole day. I do not overstate. I mean, you wake up to Zeppelin, you're feeling aggressively saucy and when you wake up to this, how can your day be anything but magically hopeful?
It is this song, and this song alone, that makes me want to learn to play the guitar. It makes me happy. It makes me smile. It hugs me and tells me that good things are just around the corner. So simple. So easy. So sweet. It's all those things that will keep me grinning from ear to ear all day today.
Hope you will be too.
xo.

Boomerang
Back and forth and stay and go and push and pull and yes and no.
Hold on tight or let it go?
Let it go.
It’s better there. You’re better here.
It may come back. One never knows.
To find out, you let it go.
Let it go.
